NOTE: this is the FIRST EDITION of Windows 98, not the SECOND EDITION. Believe it or not, the first edition is a lot different from the second when it comes to supporting newer hardware and software. When it says it will run on 98SE, you have pretty much a 50/50 chance of it running on the first edition.
Hardware Requirements:
486DX 66 MHz processor
16MB RAM
Up to 355MB hard drive space depending on your file system and options you choose during installation
CD-ROM drive
VGA resolution video adapter
1. Extract the Part 1 .RAR file using a file extractor of your choice. I recommend
Alzip. (NOTE: Extracting one part automatically extracts the other. Don't try to extract both of them!)
2. Extract the file and burn the ISO file to a CD using a CD-Writing program such as Nero.
3. Make sure your computer can boot from a CD, if not then use the supplied Windows 98 startup disk folder.
4. Either use the startup disk or the CD, turn on your computer and select the first option to start the setup
5. Follow the instructions.
6. IMPORTANT: Make sure your computer's BIOS boot priority is set properly, or you will have problems when Windows 98 restarts your computer during installation.

If you plan to have internet on the computer you are using, the internet explorer version supplied will malfunction on EVERY internet page you decide to visit. Beforehand, I recommend downloading IE 6
here. Once you have that installed, I also recommend using Windows Update and fully update Windows (yes windows update still works with 98).
